Our body often adapts to our habits by reinforcing body postures sustained during those habits (for example forward head and shoulder position from long hours at a desk). Such inefficient postures, when reinforced, can restrict free movement of the vocal processes (respiration, phonation, resonance, articulation). This includes both literal restriction (e.g. thoracic position interfering with breath capacity), and postures that create compensatory tension in nearby muscle connections (e.g. shoulder position affecting muscles of the neck).
Following evaluation and goal setting, all vocal massage services include postural evaluation and treatment. This promotes whole body balance, musculoskeletal efficiency, and unrestricted function of the vocal processes.
